I remember him playing Folk Clubs in Luton and I think he was living in St Albans at that time.

I came across this version recently while looking for something else.

Just found this in the comments on this video.
Can't resist saying this - I've just found this clip - A bit of trivia: It was shot at the New London Theatre in 1981for the BBC, directed/produced by Brian Whithouse - I was the Floor Assitant/Runner on the show and Chrystal asked me very quietly whether I could write the words for the song onn crib boards for her as she was worried she wouldn't remember them as sshe and Donavan hadn't rehearsed the number - I stood in the front row of the stalls with the cards. Christal was very sweet and Donavan very very amused that she didn't know the words.
